Who needs to verify their identity?

All directors and Persons with Significant Control (PSCs) of UK limited companies must verify their identity to meet Companies House requirements — either directly via GOV.UK One Login or through an authorised provider (ACSP) like Filing HQ. This became a legal requirement from 18 November 2025.

When do existing directors and PSCs need to verify?

Directors already in post must give their personal code on their company's next confirmation statement. Existing PSCs who aren't directors have a 14-day window starting on the first day of their birth month. The 12-month transition for people already on the register ends on 18 November 2026.

How much does it cost?

£30.00 per person, paid when you submit your details. Verifying directly through GOV.UK One Login is free; you pay us for verification through an authorised provider, with help if you get stuck.

How long does the verification take?

The verification process itself takes just 30 minutes. Once approved, we submit your details to Companies House and you'll receive your personal code shortly after.

What is a Companies House personal code?

A personal code is a unique identifier issued by Companies House after identity verification. You'll need to provide this code when filing with Companies House, including in confirmation statements.

Is my data secure?

Yes, absolutely. We use bank-level encryption to protect your data and are fully GDPR compliant. Your information is only used for identity verification and submission to Companies House.

What happens after verification?

Once your identity is verified and approved, we automatically submit your verification details to Companies House. You'll receive your personal code via email shortly after the submission is processed.
