How long does the process take?

The process typically takes 1-2 days, depending on whether board resolutions need to be passed. Once you submit the details, if a board resolution is required, the respective people will receive an email for digital signing. Once signing is completed, we will file to Companies House, and approval is usually granted within 1 working day.

What details do I need to provide?

You will need to provide the director's first name, last name, date of birth, nationality, occupation, and address. Note that the address will be publicly available on Companies House. If you prefer to keep your address private, you can use our service address instead. This option is available on the address selection page.

Who doesn't qualify to act as a director?

The following individuals cannot act as directors:

  • Anyone under the age of 16
  • Individuals who are undischarged bankrupts, unless they have been granted permission by the court
  • Individuals who are subject to a disqualification order or disqualification undertaking under the Company Directors Disqualification Act 1986
  • Persons restricted from being directors under other specific legal provisions or court orders
Can I appoint someone who is already a director of another company?

Yes, there is no restriction on a person being a director of multiple companies, provided they meet all the qualification requirements and are not disqualified. Many directors serve on multiple company boards.

Do I need a resolution to appoint a director?

Whether a resolution is required depends on your company's articles of association and the circumstances of the appointment. In many cases, directors can be appointed by the board, but some companies require shareholder approval. Our platform will guide you through the process and handle any required resolutions.
